nCasa Dragones is a small batch tequila producer, founded in 2008 by MTV founder Robert W. Pittman, and tequila industry expert Bertha Gonzáles Nieves, the first woman to be certified as “Maestra Tequilera” by the Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila. Gonzáles Nieves, who spent a decade at Jose Cuervo, now holds a title usually held by men, and recognized by the Tequila Regulatory Council.
n
nCasa Dragones uses modern, sustainable, innovative processes to produce their tequilas. Each step of the production process is designed to deliver a clean, smooth tequila. Using steam and water for clean, pure liquid extraction, this highly efficient process of diffusion produces less waste and impurities.
n
nThis production process is considered by the Tequila Regulatory Council to be one of the most sustainable method of tequila production.
n
nCasa Dragones is crafted from hand-selected blue agave plants grown at 4,000 feet above sea level in the Jalisco Highlands. The soil in this region is rich in potassium and silica, extremely ideal for growing agave plants. They distill their spirits multiple times using pure spring water originating from a Volcano, which sits at an elevation of over 9,000 feet.
n
nThe water travels from the top of the Volcano into the 70-meter deep natural aquifers, where the water gathers essential minerals from the volcano’s rich soil. The water is then put through a propriety process to create a balance of minerals.
n
nCasa Dragones Añejo is a small-batch tequila that is crafted from 100% blue agave. It is then matured in new French oak and new American oak barrels, each contributing their own sets of flavors and aromas to the profile. The barrels were custom-made and toasted by Casa Dragones’ own Maestro Tequilero and Master Cooper to complement their tequila perfectly. Once they have matured they are expertly blended to create the perfect balance of agave freshness and wood notes.
